After two years study at the Cordwainers' College in London, Susan won the first Gold Medal to be awarded by the Worshipful
Company of Saddlers to the most outstanding student of the year and received a principal Bursary Award from the Worshipful Company of
Coachmakers and Coach Harness Makers.
On leaving Cordwainers, she worked at Sattlerei Janitschke Bielefeld in Germany, gaining valuable experience under Sattlermeister Horst Olderdissen, and in January 1993 established the Saddler's Workshop, in Hampshire, becoming Master Saddler later that year.
She now serves on the Executive Committee of the Society of Master Saddlers, is an assessor for the City and Guilds Saddlery Skills Assessment examinations, Visitor to the Millenium Apprenticeship Scheme, and is an occasional Judge at the annual National Saddlery Competition.           more   >>
